The Challenges and Triumphs of Being a Solo Creator: Thomas King’s Story

Columbus, GA – Thomas King is not your average artist. With a smooth vibrato and heart-dropping falsetto, his music is something for any mood.

Being the main puzzle piece for all his work such as production, songwriting, vocals, and backup, he creates a new world that anyone can escape to.

Starting off as the lead vocalist of the vocal and dance group “South Town Rebels,” Thomas fell in love with the act of singing and dancing at an early age.

Despite the group breaking up shortly after, he never stopped writing music.

In 2018, he made his dream come true by starting a YouTube channel recording song covers from various artists and genres, gaining the attention of famous artists such as BOYZ2MEN, Johnny Gill, Case, members of OTOWN, and many others.

And in 2019, he began releasing a few singles, but he still wasn’t satisfied. In the spring of 2020, he released his first EP album “NEVER TOO LATE,” with new music on the way and the second EP, “SUNSETS.”

What makes Thomas King different from other artists is not only his vocal and dancing skills, but also his influences from all genres of music. This allows him to switch his sound from R&B to pop, as well as any other sound.

For Thomas, singing has always been in his orbit, and listening to Michael Jackson since birth, he knew it was his destiny. He distinctly remembers his mom telling him that it was in his DNA when he started learning the dance for “Thriller” at six years old.

Being the sole creator for all his projects is his biggest challenge, as he produces, writes, and mixes all of his work. Although it takes longer, he feels a sense of pride in building his knowledge for the future.

If he had to pick the top three people to meet that could take his career to the next level, they would be Justin Timberlake, Usher, and Khalid.

These artists have all had an immense amount of success in their careers, and Thomas admires their talent and work ethic.
