At just 16 years old, Kyla Carter has already achieved more than most people can dream of. She is a New York-born actress, singer, and songwriter who has been performing professionally since she was five years old.

The Inspiration Behind Her Career

Kyla’s love of acting, singing, and dancing was inspired by Shirley Temple. Watching a commercial for Shirley Temple DVDs at the age of four, Kyla begged her mother for the entire set.

She watched every movie over and over, and said to her mom, “I want to do what she does. I want to be just like her!” Soon after, Kyla booked her first television job and realized that performing was what she wanted to pursue as a career.

Kyla’s resilience, humility, and gratitude are the qualities that define her and make her unique. Despite working in an adult industry since the age of five, Kyla always sees the positive in any situation.

She believes that choosing to be happy, positive, and confident in who she is, are the qualities that set her apart.

The Moment Kyla Knew She Was Doing What She Was Born To Do

As long as she can remember, Kyla has been singing and performing. But there was a moment when she was 12 years old that she will never forget. It was a Friday night in Atlanta, Georgia, and Kyla was performing as Susan Waverly on the Broadway National Tour of “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.”

As the cast was taking their final bows, Kyla realized that the audience of 5,000 people was standing up for her clapping and cheering. Tears of joy filled her eyes. Her dreams were coming true, and she realized at that moment that she wanted to do this forever.

The Biggest Challenge Kyla Has Faced

Kyla’s life has been non-stop, like a machine, for 15-18 hours a day since she was five years old. She has had to juggle full-time work, auditions, training, and school.

But Kyla has learned that nothing good in life comes easy. She has learned that hard work and perseverance pay off. And, she has learned to have the courage to do what her heart truly desires.

Kyla has a list of individuals she’d love to meet, not just for professional gains but for the sake of learning from their expertise. One of her idols is Meryl Streep, an iconic Hollywood figure whose wisdom and experience Kyla is eager to absorb. She yearns to sit down with her and gain insights about Streep’s on-screen and Broadway performances.

Taylor Swift, who has influenced Kyla’s songwriting journey significantly, is another individual she hopes to meet. Kyla desires to learn from her about writing authentic and relatable lyrics.

Lastly, Kyla has always admired Viola Davis for her exceptional acting skills and ability to portray any character with full conviction.
