The Brazilian rock duo Gas Dance, comprised of Thalys Guarnieri (vocals) and Pedro Domicio (guitar), released their live single, “Band-Aids From My Scars (Live).”
This raw and emotional track served as a teaser for their album Slow Dance, recorded in the band’s home studio with a distinctive DIY, lo-fi aesthetic that became their signature.
“Band-Aids From My Scars (Live)” captured the heart and intensity that fans had come to expect from Gas Dance.
The song masterfully blended indie rock influences with 70s-inspired guitars, synthesizers, and electric pianos, while narrating a two-year love story with intense, spoken-word verses that crescendoed into raw, emotional screams.
The live recording amplified the band’s raw energy, turning each note into a poignant experience for listeners.
Since their formation in 2018, Gas Dance had been known for their independent spirit, self-producing and mixing all of their music. Their previous albums, Gas Dance and California Dreaming, had cemented their place in Brazil’s indie rock scene.
The album Slow Dance promised to be their boldest work yet, with a fusion of indie rock, Brazilian rhythms, and acoustic textures. The album also featured collaborations with independent artists Lina Cosmic (singer and bassist) and Gustavo Azem, a prominent drummer from Rio.
With the release of “Band-Aids From My Scars (Live),” Gas Dance offered a tantalizing glimpse of what was to come, inviting listeners into a visceral, soul-stirring rock experience that was both authentic and powerful.
