Limited Edition Vinyl Bliss: Dive into Patrick Wolf’s Sonic Time Capsule with ‘The Circling Sky

Patrick Wolf, the maestro of musical innovation, invites audiences on a nostalgic journey with the release of “The Circling Sky,” an exquisite anthology of B-sides and rarities that showcases the evolution of his extraordinary career spanning two decades.

A Sonic Odyssey: From Teenage Beginnings to Abbey Road Mastery

While immersed in crafting his seventh studio album, Wolf takes a moment to reflect on his musical odyssey, curating a selection of beloved tracks that have, until now, remained hidden gems.

Meticulously sequenced and masterfully polished at the legendary Abbey Road Studios by Alex Wharton, “The Circling Sky” is now available on all digital platforms, with a limited edition vinyl release for enthusiasts seeking an immersive journey.

Unearthing Hidden Treasures: From Debut EP to Mid-2000s Folk Revolution

“The Circling Sky” unveils two previously un-digitized gems, ‘Pumpkin Soup‘ and ‘Empress,’ originally featured on the debut EP’s limited vinyl in 2002.

The album opens with ‘Night Train,’ a haunting B-side intended for “Wind in the Wires,” originally requested by CocoRosie for a rare compilation that defined a new era in folk music.

Captivating Rarities: From Cornwall to West Cork

This carefully curated collection features fan-favorites like ‘Godrevy Point‘ and ‘Penzance,’ alongside the captivating composition ‘Ignis Fatuus,’ a five-minute spectacle with four Violas, each played by Wolf.

The album takes listeners on a nocturnal train journey, a harpsichord-laden retelling of ‘The Tinderbox,’ and concludes with the autumnal echoes of ‘Pumpkin Soup’ on the beaches of West Cork, reminiscent of 2005’s iconic “Wind in The Wires.”

Visual Poetry: A Collaboration of Sounds and Sights

Renowned photographer Bryan Sansivero captures the essence of “The Circling Sky” with haunting illustrations and portraits of Patrick taken against the backdrop of East Kent.

Sansivero’s first venture into album artwork beautifully complements the dreamy soundscape, creating a visual poetry that mirrors Wolf’s musical storytelling.

Limited Edition Vinyl: A Collector’s Dream

With only 1000 vinyl copies available, the first 500 signed, the release on flaming sky-colored vinyl promises a unique collector’s experience.

The vinyl includes a pull-out lyric sheet, reverse portrait artwork print, handwritten credits and liner notes sleeve, and four portraits by Bryan Sansivero accompanied by Patrick’s own dreamscape illustrations.

Patrick Wolf: A Musical Luminary Continues to Shine
