Howard Jones and Synth-Pop Legends ABC Set for North American Summer Tour with Special Guests Haircut 100
(New York, NY) – Legendary new wave artist Howard Jones is gearing up to release a new live album, LIVE FROM THE O2, recorded during his performance at London’s O2 Arena on March 24th. The album will be available on August 2nd through Cherry Red Records.
Jones performed as a special guest alongside his longtime friends OMD, revisiting a collaboration that dates back nearly 40 years.
This new live album captures the electrifying energy of that night, featuring powerful renditions of some of Jones’ most iconic hits, including “New Song,” “What Is Love?,” “Hide & Seek,” “Pearl In The Shell,” “Like To Get To Know You Well,” and “Things Can Only Get Better.”
The album also includes a special cover of Kajagoogoo’s “Too Shy,” performed with Jones’ current band member and former Kajagoogoo bassist, Nick Beggs.
LIVE AT THE O2 will be released in a limited edition recycled color vinyl with a full-color inner sleeve, as well as in a standard CD format that includes a 464mm x 348mm pull-out poster featuring a live shot of Jones at the O2. Fans can pre-order the vinyl here and the CD here.
This summer, Howard Jones and ABC will headline a North American tour, with special guests Haircut 100 joining them on stage.
The tour is a dream come true for 80s music enthusiasts, showcasing a lineup of timeless hits that defined the era.
Adding to the excitement, Haircut 100 will be performing in North America for the first time in over four decades, featuring their original band lineup.
Jones will be accompanied by his long-time backing band, including Nick Beggs (bass), Robin Boult (guitar), Dan Clarke (keyboards), and Robbie Bronnimann (keyboards and tech). Due to overwhelming demand, several additional dates have been added to the tour schedule.
As an electronic music pioneer, Howard Jones has maintained a strong presence on the global music scene for the past 40 years, performing in various settings, from intimate solo performances to full-band shows with cutting-edge technology.
Jones first burst onto the music scene in 1983 with his hit single “New Song,” followed by his critically acclaimed albums HUMAN’S LIB and DREAM INTO ACTION. HUMAN’S LIB topped the UK charts in 1984, featuring hits like “New Song” and “What Is Love?,” while DREAM INTO ACTION became a Top Ten Platinum album in the U.S., featuring popular tracks such as “Things Can Only Get Better,” “Life In One Day,” and “No One Is To Blame.”

With over 10 million albums sold worldwide, Jones continues to create new music and tour internationally.
His work has been featured in a variety of popular TV shows and films, including Stranger Things, Breaking Bad, Watchmen, The Carrie Diaries, Superstore, and Bumblebee. His latest album, DIALOGUE, was released in September 2022, completing a trilogy of electronic releases that began with ENGAGE (2015) and TRANSFORM (2019). The album received praise from major outlets such as Spin and Stereogum.
