mōcean shortlisted for World Beverage Innovation Awards 2026

Final placement in the Best Energy Beverage category will be revealed November 10 at BrauBeviale in Nuremberg, Germany

BOSTON, (Nov. 2, 2026) — mōcean®, the taurine-free functional energy drink, is one of five energy drinks shortlisted in the Best Energy Beverage category of FoodBev Media’s World Beverage Innovation Awards 2026, which recognize innovation across the global beverage industry. 

“We set out to make an energy drink for grown-ups, and seeing it stand alongside the best in the world is a proud moment for our family,” said Tony Vieira, co-founder and CEO of mōcean. “Whatever happens in Nuremberg, it tells us people are ready for real energy without the neon.”

Vieira, a brewmaster with 36 years of experience who was part of the team behind White Claw, created mōcean with his son, Christian Vieira. Christian came up with the idea at 2 a.m. in a hospital gift shop the night his first daughter was born. The result is an energy drink made for adults who want real energy without neon cans or candy flavors.

Now in its 23rd year, the World Beverage Innovation Awards program recognizes achievements across 25 categories, from new drinks and packaging to production technology. Each shortlisted entry will be named a Winner, Finalist or Commended at a ceremony November 10 from 5 to 6 p.m. CET on the Main Stage in Hall 9, on the opening day of BrauBeviale in Nuremberg, Germany.
