Finnish guitarist Gtarzee (known for his work with Forth and Waking Iris) breathes new life into the traditional Fenno-Swedish folk song Vem Kan Segla Förutan Vind with a unique, self-produced rendition. This release marks the first single from his upcoming Ducks in a Row EP, set to drop digitally later this spring.

Gtarzee handled every aspect of the track’s arrangement, vocals, instrumentation, and programming, crafting a deeply personal interpretation of the beloved folk melody.

Vem Kan Segla Förutan Vind is a well-known song among Swedish-speaking communities in Finland and is believed to have originated from the Åland Islands. Like many sailor songs, it captures the sorrow of parting from a loved one.

The track was recorded in Gtarzee’s home studio, while mixing and mastering were completed in Ukraine by the talented sound engineer Ilarion Ivanenko.
