Following the JAUZ remix of “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” in late 2023, another hallmark of deadmau5’s illustrious career received the remix treatment. The beloved track “Strobe” was reimagined by the rising techno star Layton Giordani.

“Strobe (Layton Giordani Remix)” was released on September 13, on mau5trap, alongside the re-release of the original track to commemorate its 15-year legacy.

In his version, Layton Giordani delivered a brilliant reinterpretation of one of deadmau5’s most influential tracks, maintaining the song’s famed chords while layering pulsating synths and beats to add new depth.

“Strobe was undoubtedly one of my favorite dance records of all time and was one of the first that got me into electronic music,” said Giordani.

“It was hard to express how amazing it was to remix this track. deadmau5 was the first major artist to support my techno records when I was starting out, so being able to put my own spin on this one felt really special. The younger version of myself would be proud.”

“Strobe,” hailed by Mixmag as “…arguably one of the most recognizable and readily celebrated compositions in electronic music,” originally appeared on deadmau5’s fourth studio album, For Lack of a Better Name, released in 2009.

The album featured several of his biggest hits and achieved RIAA Gold certification in Canada and the UK, reaching #1 on the U.K. Dance Albums chart upon release.

Other notable tracks from the album included the fan favorite “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff,” featuring Rob Swire, which reached RIAA Double Platinum certification, and “Hi Friend!” featuring MC Flipside. The original version of “Strobe” was made available again for new fans to enjoy.
