Mindy Gledhill Released “Long Distance Lullaby” Video from Album The Phone Booth Sessions Vol. 1 – Out September 17

Mindy Gledhill

August 13, 2024 – New York, NY / Provo, UT: Singer-songwriter Mindy Gledhill shared a new music video for “Long Distance Lullaby,” a heartfelt track from her album The Phone Booth Sessions Vol. 1, which was released on September 17, 2024. The album featured a series of intimate love songs directed toward her inner child, continuing Gledhill’s exploration of healing and self-reflection.

In “Long Distance Lullaby,” Gledhill sang herself to peace, acknowledging the moment she fully claimed her inner child as her own. The song reflected an epiphany of self-love and growth, marking the start of a new chapter.

Gledhill explained, “My adult self now has the power to soothe my inner child. I no longer need to remain stuck in waiting for someone else to fulfill the nurturing role I once longed for.”

The video, produced and directed by Gledhill herself, was filmed using a vintage Canon camera from her childhood. Set at the piano where Gledhill had written many of her songs, it featured her niece, Olivia, portraying her younger self inside a phone booth—a metaphor for time travel and self-connection.

Decorated with relics from Gledhill’s past, the booth symbolized a space for her inner child to explore and, ultimately, reunite with her adult self in a touching moment of self-acceptance.

The Phone Booth Sessions Vol. 1 also included Gledhill’s cover of the Cranberries’ “Dreams” alongside original tracks like “Pleased to Meet Me” and “The Edge of the World,” which together garnered over 300k views on YouTube. The album marked Gledhill’s seventh full-length release and the first where she shared co-producer credit.

Inspired by a therapy session on inner child work, Gledhill discovered an antique phone booth in a thrift store and envisioned it as a unique vocal booth.

She explained, “I thought, what if I used this booth to call up my younger self and record songs for her, sending the messages she always needed to hear? And so, The Phone Booth Sessions was born.”

The album followed her 2019 release Rabbit Hole, where Gledhill delved into her decision to leave the Mormon faith. The Phone Booth Sessions showed her on the other side of that experience, focused on healing and rebuilding, starting from within.

Gledhill, based in Utah, was also the founder of The Forge Collective, a creative space in Provo where artists from various disciplines came together. Her vocals had been featured in numerous TV shows, including So You Think You Can Dance and Bones, as well as major ad campaigns.

Her work with Kaskade on the Grammy-nominated Fire & Ice album and the hit single “Eyes” further solidified her place in the music industry, and she enjoyed sold-out tours in the U.S. and Japan.

The video for “Long Distance Lullaby” was available on YouTube, and The Phone Booth Sessions Vol. 1 was released on all digital platforms and vinyl on September 17.
