In October 2020, The Damned announced a long-awaited reunion of their original line-up, reuniting after more than 40 years. The founding members—Dave Vanian (vocals), Brian James (guitar), Captain Sensible (bass), and Rat Scabies (drums)—had planned a series of shows, but they were postponed until 2022 due to the pandemic.
On November 3, 2022, they delivered an electrifying 21-song set at a sold-out O2 Apollo in Manchester, featuring tracks from their first two albums, Damned Damned Damned and Music for Pleasure.

Titled AD 2022 – Live in Manchester, the release became available for download, streaming, 180g Black Double Vinyl, and a limited Deluxe Edition CD+DVD set, which included the full Manchester show on DVD and bonus audio from their Birmingham concert. Fans were treated to a live video of “New Rose,” the first track from the release.

The Damned’s twelfth studio album, Darkadelic, released last year, received rave reviews, including praise from The Big Takeover and Goldmine.
Widely acclaimed by critics, the album was described as “damn near perfect” by Goldmine, and Glide lauded its depth and musicianship.
The band continued to captivate audiences, reaffirming their legacy as pioneers of punk and gothic rock since their formation in 1976.
