Leading independent publishing company Prescription Songs extended their publishing deal with GRAMMY-nominated artist, producer, and songwriter Fridayy.

The extension was announced on August 19 by Prescription Songs founder Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, Rhea Pasricha, Head of A&R West Coast, and Eddie Fourcell, VP of A&R.

Fridayy, a Philly-bred, Haitian-American vocalist, first signed with Prescription Songs in the summer of 2022. This extension followed the platinum certification of Fridayy’s solo single, “When It Comes To You.”

Eddie Fourcell, Fridayy’s A&R at Prescription, connected Fridayy with DJ Khaled, which led to the creation of the GRAMMY-nominated “GOD DID,” featuring Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and John Legend.

The song earned three nominations at the 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards: “Song of the Year,” “Best Rap Song,” and “Best Rap Performance.” It also marked Fridayy’s debut on the Billboard Hot 100, entering at #17 and solidifying his place as a solo artist, leading to a series of high-profile collaborations.

In January 2024, Fridayy’s single “When It Comes To You,” from his self-titled debut album via Def Jam, debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 as his first solo entry.

The track has since achieved RIAA-certified Platinum status, joining his previous accomplishments with Khalid’s Gold “GOD DID” and Lil Baby’s Platinum “Forever.”

Fridayy’s highest-charting single as a producer and writer came with Drake’s “Calling 4 You” from the album For All The Dogs, which debuted at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking his first Top 10 global charting single.

Born Francis “Fridayy” LeBlanc in Philadelphia, his musical journey began at 10 when he joined the band, playing the trumpet, and later teaching himself piano and bass.

He first showcased his vocal talent in the church at 13, sparking a deeper passion for music. By his late teens, Fridayy discovered his love for producing and songwriting, and by age 27, he had turned his dreams into a successful career.

“Prescription feels like home for me!” Fridayy shared. “Shout out to Eddie! Without him, who knows where I’d be! All I needed was an opportunity, and Prescription provided that. Now life looks a lot different!”

Fridayy’s manager, Edgar Cutino, added, “Working with Prescription has been an honor. After meeting Eddie, our lives changed for the better! Believing in someone is just the start—doing the work afterward builds lasting careers. Eddie made it happen! If ‘God Did’ didn’t go to Khaled, none of this would’ve been possible.”

Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, Prescription Songs founder, said, “From the moment Eddie played me Fridayy’s music, I knew he was special. We’re thrilled to extend our partnership and know the next chapter will be even bigger and better.”
