Following the release of “Quezacotl” earlier this month, deadmau5 has introduced another fresh track to mau5trap on July 12—this time under his darker alias, TESTPILOT.
Known for his world-renowned electronic productions, Joel Zimmerman (aka deadmau5) has released the techno-inspired track “WET,” which takes listeners on a journey through deep, pulsating synths and hypnotic beats.

As Frank151 highlighted earlier this year, “While deadmau5 remains a cornerstone in the electronic dance scene, TESTPILOT serves as Zimmerman’s vehicle to explore its darker, more visceral side.”
This exploration allows Zimmerman to showcase his versatility, pushing boundaries and providing fans with a unique experience under his TESTPILOT moniker.
“WET” marks TESTPILOT’s first studio production since 2014. The track continues the techno project’s tradition of blending the soul of techno with a modern edge, offering a haunting, cosmic sound that is perfect for the underground rave scene.
With “WET,” TESTPILOT invites listeners to expect the unexpected, delivering a soundscape that is both dark and enthralling.
TESTPILOT first emerged in 2013 with a memorable debut performance alongside Richie Hawtin at SXSW, and since then, the project has been synonymous with sleek, ferocious techno. TESTPILOT’s unique sound combines years of experience and deep knowledge of electronic music, making it a favorite among techno enthusiasts.
“WET,” along with the deadmau5 single “Quezacotl,” is featured on the ‘SOME EP,’ which was released on July 19.
