Now After Nothing Release Video for ‘Criminal Feature’; Debut EP Artificial Ambivalence Out September 13

Now After Nothing

Select Live Shows in Atlanta, Charleston, and Savannah Announced

Atlanta-based darkwave band Now After Nothing has unveiled the music video for their track “Criminal Feature.” The song delves into the intertwining of politics and religion, offering a critique of the diminishing separation between Church and State in America.

Frontman Matt Spatial explains, “I’m not against religion itself, but I strongly oppose the misuse of religion or politics when it’s used to manipulate or harm others for personal gain.”

The “Criminal Feature” video embodies Spatial’s creative vision, a product of unexpected circumstances after the original videographer ghosted him. Left to his own devices, Spatial took charge of the video, resulting in a project he’s proud to call his own.

The track is featured on Now After Nothing’s debut EP, Artificial Ambivalence, set to release on September 13 via their label Living On Neptune(s). The EP, available on digital platforms and vinyl, showcases the band’s goth and post-punk influences, with Matt Spatial leading the charge alongside drummer Michael Allen and guest guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite, known for his work with Peter Murphy, The Mission, and Gary Numan.

Now After Nothing will support the EP with a series of live dates, starting with a hometown show in Atlanta on September 14 at Center Stage. The band is also partnering with Atlanta’s LifeLine Animal Project to support the local community.

They’ll be selling special ‘Meow After Nothing’ cat-themed T-shirts, with proceeds going to the animal rescue organization.

Live Dates:

  • September 14 – Atlanta, GA @ Vinyl/Center Stage with Glass Spells and DJ Goth Dad
  • October 9 – Savannah, GA @ Lodge of Sorrows with Al1ce and DJ Syntax Error
  • October 19 – Charleston, SC @ The Garden with Academy Order

Drawing from influences like Bauhaus, The Cure, My Bloody Valentine, and Sonic Youth, Now After Nothing blends classic goth with modern electronic soundscapes, creating a deep and dark narrative that resonates with the misunderstood and lost.

Their live performances have been making waves in Atlanta, and they’ve shared the stage with acts like Curse Mackey and Astari Nite.

The debut EP Artificial Ambivalence promises to solidify their place in the post-punk and darkwave scene.
