“Hidden Treasure” is inspired by a belief shared with Haerle by his spiritual mentor, the late Terry Richey. Richey believed that every person possesses “treasures of the spirit”—our human qualities, personal stories, challenges we’ve faced, and the difficulties we’ve overcome or are still dealing with. According to Richey, these treasures may not always be immediately visible and can take time to discover.
Haerle explains, “‘Hidden Treasure’ is about keeping that in mind. It’s about taking the time to talk with people, asking an extra question or two, and looking beyond our initial judgments, which might only be surface deep. It’s about making a habit of searching for these hidden treasures, as the rewards can be significant. Is there anything more valuable than human connection?”
For this track, Haerle, who sings lead and plays electric and acoustic rhythm guitars, is joined by his longtime band members Carson Cohen (bass, keyboards, backing vocals), Reade Pryor (drums, percussion), and Jose Salazar (keyboards).
Special guest Andrew Pask adds a dynamic saxophone element to the mix. The song was written and produced by Haerle, with co-production, mixing, and engineering by Jose Salazar and additional engineering by Reade Pryor.
The song and video premiered exclusively on V13 Media, which noted Haerle’s unique journey and passion for music. “Haerle has shown that you can get started at any age and still have a successful, fulfilling career,” V13 Media wrote.
“The singer-songwriter has been remarkably productive over the last few years. It’s been an unconventional road for David Haerle, but he wants you to know that deciding the road you travel is up to you, not anyone else.”
Haerle’s previous albums—El Camino Sierra (2023), Death Valley (2020), and Garden of Edendale (2018)—have received praise from various notable music publications, including Billboard, American Songwriter, Goldmine, Under The Radar, Glide Magazine, Rock and Roll Globe, Americana Highways, and Elmore Magazine.
David Haerle’s connection to music runs deep. His father, Martin Haerle, emigrated from Germany to pursue a dream in the country music industry and co-founded the independent label CMH Records (Country Music Heritage).
David’s maternal grandparents co-owned Nashville’s first full-time country music radio station, WENO. At just nine years old, David was invited onstage at the Grand Ole Opry by the King of Country Music, Roy Acuff.
David began playing guitar at the age of 13 and performed in rock and alternative new wave bands during the ’80s before becoming a music agent at ICM. When his father suddenly passed away, David took over the family business at 24 and has served as president of CMH Records, now CMH Label Group, ever since.
Despite his responsibilities with CMH, Haerle never stopped playing guitar. In 2011, he decided to record and release his first full-length album, a project that would take nearly seven years to complete.
Garden of Edendale was released in the summer of 2018, followed by Death Valley in 2020 and El Camino Sierra in 2023. His fourth LP is set to be released early next year.
