March 18, 2025 – New York, NY: Patrick Wolf has unveiled a new single, an anthemic duet with Zola Jesus titled Limbo. Serving as the second single from his much-anticipated album Crying The Neck, the track was officially released on June 13 via Apport/Virgin Music.
In addition to the new music, Wolf has announced a North American tour, marking his first visit to the USA and Canada in twelve years following his UK and EU performances. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 21.
The North American leg of the Stations of The Sun Tour will see Wolf embracing his roots, reminiscent of his early Lycanthropy days when he toured across the states in the back of his manager’s car.
This time, he will drive himself coast to coast, reconnecting with fans he hasn’t seen in over a decade and meeting those who have discovered his music in the meantime.
The setlist will feature both his most celebrated work and tracks from the new album, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of his beloved second album, Wind in the Wires.
To complement the diversity of venues on this tour—both seated and standing—Wolf is curating two unique show formats: an electronic-focused, beat-driven experience and an intimate, electro-acoustic folk set.
Limbo: A Duet of Conflict and Reflection
Wolf shared insight into Limbo, saying: “I first imagined a limbo—a purgatory—for a song after seeing The Scapegoat by William Holman Hunt in the Manchester Art Gallery. Years later, during lockdown food drives to Bromley and the tensions of a relationship confined to a car, I was inspired to write a duet capturing the friction of two lovers debating whether to persist or part ways.”
The song is set along a stretch of road in Thanet, where the couple seeks refuge in a roadside inn, echoing themes of escapism and emotional liminality. Wolf explains, “So much of Crying The Neck responds to themes of decay, death, and loss. Limbo is the lovers’ response, the only song on the album centered on a romantic relationship.”
Wolf has long admired Zola Jesus, and their collaboration felt inevitable. “I have adored Zola’s work since Stridulum, and we’ve been pen friends since 2011. When writing this song by the sea, I envisioned her voice harmonizing with mine—now, I can’t imagine anyone else riding shotgun on this gothic road trip of a song.”

Crying The Neck: A Rebirth Through Music
Wolf’s last album, The Night Safari (2023), marked his return after a decade of personal and creative struggles. Now, Crying The Neck signals a period of confidence and artistic renewal. Inspired by grief, recovery, and the folklore of East Kent, this is his first full-length studio album in thirteen years and the first installment in a planned four-album series.
Written and recorded in his Ramsgate studio, Wolf composed, produced, and arranged the entire record, with Brendan Cox assisting as co-producer in the final three years of its completion.
Renowned as one of the most distinctive musicians of his generation, Wolf has crafted a diverse discography since Lycanthropy (2003), incorporating instruments ranging from viola and Celtic harp to analog synthesizers and field recordings. Having worked with artists like Marianne Faithfull, Tilda Swinton, Angelo Badalamenti, and Patti Smith, his genre-defying style continues to evolve with Crying The Neck.
